Offered is a pair of mid century modern Lawrence Peabody newly upholstered barrel back lounge chairs with a newly lacquered wood frame. Often erroneously attributed to Milo Baughman, this pair of space age lounge chairs was created by Boston furniture designer Lawrence Peabody for the small family owned Sheboygan, Wisconsin furniture company Nemschoff Chairs. Marketed jointly with fellow Sheboygan furniture manufacturer Richardson Brothers under the banner Richardson-Nemschoff, the Peabody Collection debuted in 1958 and included these barrel back upholstered lounge chairs hovering upon a wood base. This pair features new faux bois pattern upholstery in electric orchid and white and newly lacquered cantilevered wood base in the a very dark purple.
