Offered is a pair of mid century modern newly upholstered in a knoll fabric Ward Bennett barrel back club chairs on casters. Lauded by the American Institute of Architects for “transforming Industrial hardware into sublime objects,” Ward Bennett was one of the earliest American designers to introduce the use of metal in furniture for the home, several decades before the high-tech metal-look of the 1970s. In 1964, he undertook a collaboration with Brickel Associates, designing furniture and textiles. A hugely talented and original designer of objects, Bennett also designed for Tiffany and Company, Sasaki and Hermes. His designs are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art as well as in the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. mrspk&oz is excited to offer a sleek and sculptural pair of Ward Bennett for Brickel Associates barrel-back club chairs on casters.
