This elegant chandelier is attributed to designer Pietro Chiesa. Chiesa was a descendant of the storied Ticino-based family of artists, opening his own glass making shop in 1921 after working as an apprentice at the Giannotti Glassworks. In 1932, Gio Ponti requested that Chiesa share with him in the artistic direction of the newborn Fontana Arte. This role enabled Chiesa to give full expression to his creative ability by designing over a thousand different objects including furniture, tables, lamps, glass windows and objects of art. The photo of this piece speaks for itself. One of a kind brilliance of harlequin patterned cut crystal and brass!
