Signed and Numbered Mid-Century Modern Black Glazed Pottery Vase by Frankoma

Offered is a signed and numbered Mid-Century Modern organically shaped black glazed pottery vase by Frankoma. Pottery company, Frankoma was founded in 1933 by John Frank, a professor in ceramics at the University of Oklahoma at Norman in the early to mid-20th century. Frank used light-hued local “Ada” clay in his works. The company has since sold a few times to national pottery companies. This particular piece is definitely outside of Frank’s wheelhouse as far as design and color. Most of his pieces were more traditional in design and color than the offered piece. It is simple, beautiful and quite functional.
